Navigating FlightLogger Maintenance
FlightLogger Maintenance is organized around the main areas of a maintenance operation. You use the left-hand sidebar to move between inventory, purchasing, aircraft, workshop, administration, setup, and other enabled areas.
The navigation you see may depend on your role, permissions, account setup, and enabled modules. If you cannot see a menu item, it may mean that your user does not have access to that area, or that the feature is not enabled for your account.
The left-hand sidebar
The sidebar is the main way to navigate FlightLogger Maintenance.
Each section can be expanded to show the pages inside that area. Some sections include dashboards, while others take you directly to operational pages.
Typical sidebar areas include:
- Inventory
- Purchasing
- Aircraft
- Workshop
- Administration
- Setup Account
- AI Assistant, if enabled for your account
Inventory
Use Inventory to manage stock, parts, tools, batches, receiving, holds, reservations, pick lists, stock counts, and stock movements.
Common pages include:
- Dashboard
- Items & Stock
- Tool Instances
- Locations
- Batches
- Incoming Inspections
- Holds or Quarantine
- Reservations
- Pick Lists
- Adjustments
- Stock Counts
- Transactions
- Documents
Inventory is where you control traceability and availability. It helps answer questions such as: What do we have in stock? Where is it located? Is it reserved? Is it available for maintenance?
Purchasing
Use Purchasing to manage suppliers, order requests, purchase orders, invoices, and purchasing-related workflows.
Common pages include:
- Dashboard
- Suppliers
- Order Requests
- Purchase Orders
- Invoices
Some accounts may also have Quote Requests enabled.
Purchasing is connected to Inventory because received goods normally need to pass through receiving inspection before they become available as stock.
Operations and Engineering
Use Operations and Engineering to manage aircraft records, aircraft models, maintenance planning, defects, components, technical records, and airworthiness-related information.
Common pages include:
- Dashboard
- Aircraft
- Fleet Airworthiness Overview
- Aircraft Models
- Recurring Maintenance
- Work Packages
- Work Orders
- Task Library
- AMP Task Library
- AMP Programs
- Defects
- Components
- Technical Records
- Airworthiness Directives
- Service Bulletins
- Service Letters
This area gives planners and compliance users the operational view of aircraft status, due work, maintenance history, and related records.
Workshop
Use Workshop to execute released maintenance work.
Common pages include:
- Active Work Orders
- Time Entries
- Non-Conformities
- Audits
- Tool Usage
Workshop is where technicians and workshop staff work on released tasks, record time, use tools, raise findings, and complete execution steps.
Planning happens before work is released. Workshop is where the released work is performed and recorded.
Administration
Use Administration to manage account-level setup and access.
Common pages include:
- Units of Measure
- Users
- Roles
- Authorizations
- Account Settings
- Templates
- Purchasing Documents
- Kiosk Screens
- OAuth Applications
- FlightLogger Sync
- Aircraft Model Sync
- Exchange Rates
Administration is usually available only to users with the required permissions. Some setup and integration pages may be hidden from users who do not manage the account configuration.
Setup Account
The Setup Account area is used during implementation or initial configuration.
It may include pages such as:
- Initial Data Import
- Legacy Stock Import
This area is typically most relevant during onboarding, migration, or when importing existing maintenance and inventory data.
Dashboards
Some areas include dashboards that summarize what needs attention.
A dashboard may show open work, upcoming maintenance, stock status, purchasing activity, receiving tasks, or other operational indicators.
Dashboards are a good starting point when you want to understand what needs action before opening specific records.
Page actions and quick actions
Many pages include action buttons for common tasks.
Depending on the page, these actions may allow you to create a new record, start a workflow, export information, release work, receive items, or open related records.
Important workflow actions, such as releasing a work order or completing a task, should be treated as operational steps. They are not just normal edits.
Switching between accounts
If your user has access to more than one account or organization, you may be able to switch between them from the account area in the navigation.
Always make sure you are working in the correct account before creating, editing, importing, or closing records.
Why menu items may be missing
You may not see every page described in the Help Center.
This can happen if:
- Your role does not include access to that area
- Your account has not enabled the feature
- The page is only available during setup mode
- The module is not part of your organization’s workflow
- The menu item uses customer-specific terminology
If you believe you should have access to a page that is missing, contact your account administrator or support team.
