About user document visibility rules
A certain set of rules applies to user documents uploaded to FlightLogger, in regards to the users who are able to view the documents.
User documents of a certain user can always be seen by the user. Additionally, administrators are always able to see user documents of all users, regardless of their roles (this includes other administrators).
When creating, or editing, user documents, users have the option to toggle the "Visible to other" -option:
Enabling the option enacts the following rules in addition to the ones mentioned above:
- If the document owner is a student, the document can be seen by all instructors.
- If the document owner is either a student, crew, renter, or instructor, the document can be seen by all booking administrators.
- The document can be seen by guest users who both:
- Supervises the document-owning user.
- Has the "Access to user document" guest access setting enabled.
The rules that apply to user documents also apply to user document folders.
