Getting started

Configuring access to warnings

Here you can configure who is allowed to access the warning overviews of all users.

Overview

FlightLogger allows administrators to control which user roles have access to the Warning overviews available under Dashboard > Warnings. These warnings include certificate expiry, duty time limits, ground training gaps, and aircraft maintenance issues.

You can manage this access under the Account settings > User settings section.

Note: FlightLogger is currently transitioning to a new permissions system. Some settings may now be managed from the new User permissions page:

  • Administration > User Permisions

How to configure warning access

  1. Navigate to Settings > Account settings

  2. Select the User settings tab

  3. Scroll to the Warnings section

  4. Use the checkboxes to enable or disable access to each warning type per user role

  5. Click Save to apply changes

Available warning types

Warning type Description
Certificate warning overview Alerts about expiring or missing certificates (e.g. licenses, ratings)
Flight and duty time warning overview Warnings for exceeded duty limits or required rest periods
Ground training warning overview Gaps or overdue items in ground training or theory
Maintenance warning overview Aircraft due or overdue for scheduled maintenance

Who can access what?

You can assign access per user role:

  • Administrators – Full access by default (can be adjusted)

  • Instructors, Crew, Staff – Access must be manually enabled

If no checkbox is selected for a role, that role cannot see the warning section in the dashboard.

Need to manage more detailed permissions?

FlightLogger is gradually moving access management to a new User permissions interface.
To adjust other types of access (modules, booking types, exports, etc.), use the link shown at the top of the User settings page.

Tips for managing warnings

  • Only grant access to roles that need to act on the warnings

  • Limit warning visibility for operational roles if they do not handle compliance

  • Use the Reports module to investigate underlying causes behind warnings

  • Review access settings when onboarding new roles or updating procedures

Troubleshooting

  • If a user cannot see the warnings tab:
→ Check if their role has the relevant box checked
→ Ensure they are assigned to the correct user role in User Management
