This article explains what happens when enabling the account setting "Enable warning popup when dispatching"
FlightLogger allows you to enable a dispatch verification check that ensures key compliance rules are met before a flight can be dispatched. This helps prevent flights from proceeding when required conditions are not fulfilled.
What does the dispatch check do?
When the setting “Enable warning popup when dispatching” is activated under Account Settings, FlightLogger will automatically verify that students, instructors, aircraft, and other resources comply with your defined rules.
If any of the conditions are not met, dispatch will be blocked and the flight cannot be dispatched until the issue is resolved.
Rules you can enforce
You can enable one or more of the following dispatch checks:
-
Acknowledgement missing
-
Authorization missing
-
Maintenance missing, expired, or pending approval
-
Certificate(s) missing, expired, or pending approval
-
Message sign-off missing
-
Flight and duty time above limitation
-
Ground school warnings exist
-
Account balance below zero
Each rule can be individually toggled in your account settings. You decide which checks should block dispatching.
What happens when dispatching?
When a user clicks Proceed to dispatch a flight, a summary popup appears showing:
-
Aircraft
-
Instructor/Crew
-
Student or renter
-
Program and lesson
-
Departure and arrival time
-
Compliance status for each entity
Example – Dispatch popup:
In the below example the booking cannot be dispatched (could be because student has not acknowledged, has a missing or expired certificate or is missing to sign off a message in the message center).
In the example above:
-
Green icons indicate compliance
-
Red icons signal one or more blocking conditions
-
The Continue button is disabled until the issue is resolved
Why is dispatch blocked?
Dispatch will be blocked if any one of the enabled rules is not met. Examples include:
-
Student has not acknowledged required information
-
A required certificate has expired or is missing
-
Instructor has not signed off a previous message
-
Aircraft has a pending maintenance item
-
Account balance is negative
-
Flight or duty time exceeds legal or internal limitations
Who is responsible?
It is the Dispatcher’s responsibility to ensure all conditions are met before the flight is dispatched.
In most cases, this involves:
-
Contacting the instructor or student to acknowledge or sign off
-
Resolving certificate or maintenance issues
-
Reviewing flight and duty hour records
-
Verifying financial or program-specific restrictions

To enable dispatch blocking:
-
Go to Administration → Account settings → Booking
-

The Continue button will remain greyed out until all blocking items are resolved
-
The blocking logic supports custom combinations – you can choose exactly which rules matter for your operation
