Instructions for use of pilot logbook

This article provides a quick instruction to FlightLogger's built-in logbook.

EASA Requirements - Flight Time (block to block)

  • Total: Enter the total flight time for the flight. This may be done as a continuous addition.
  • Night: Flight time obtained between the end of evening civil twilight and the beginning of morning civil twilight.
  • Pilot-in-command (PIC): This includes Student Pilot-in-command (SPIC), Pilot-in-command under supervision (PICUS), and SOLO flight time unless recorded separately.
SPIC, PICUS, and SOLO must be certified by the commander or instructor.
  • Flight Instructor time: Flight time obtained as a flight instructor in an aircraft, time is also entered as PIC.
  • CO-PILOT: Time obtained on duty as a CO-Pilot in a pilot seat during operations where two or more pilots are required.
  • Multi-pilot: Time obtained on duty in a pilot seat during operations where two or more pilots are required.
  • Dual: Student flight time transferred from the total time column.
  • IF time: Flight time in actual instrument conditions (IMC or simulated IMC, i.e. goggles - mostly required in UK and Sweden)
  • Asymmetric time: Flight time in a multi-engine aircraft where one engine is simulated shut down during flight (the amount of time only on one engine - mostly required in UK and Sweden)
  • PF/PM: Flight time obtained in a multi-pilot concept plane (multi-student booking) in either an aircraft or simulator, where one pilot is pilot flying (PF) and one pilot as pilot monitoring (PM). Mostly used for MCC and type ratings in FlightLogger on synthetic devices (simulators).
