Restricting user access for individual users
At FlightLogger we do our best to ensure you can protect the data of your users. One of the measures to manage this in FlightLogger is to apply user access restrictions to individual users.
This video explains the logic in restricting an individual user's access to viewing other users in FlightLogger.
How to restrict a user's access to see other users
To restrict a user's access to see other users in FlightLogger, first go to the relevant user page. From here, click Settings -> Restrict user access
The User access list
On the restrict user access page, you see two sections. We will start with the lower one called User access list. This lists all users that this user currently has access to see. If no individual restrictions have been set on the user, you will see a default user access list which is entirely based on your account settings.
Access restrictions for an individual user
The top section of the page allows you to restrict which users an individual is allowed to access in FlightLogger by adding restrictions. Though it's called a restriction, in practice you add users that the individual should be allowed to see if your account settings also allow it. Users can be added based on:
- Classes - adds students of the class
- Programs - adds students attached to the program
- Groups - adds users based on their user role
- Users - adds the individual user
Note that the Restrict user access settings are always overruled by overall account settings. Hence, the settings can only be used to further restrict what users an individual has access to from the individual's default user access list - it cannot be used to add any additional users restricted by your overall account settings.
