  • Option to unsubscribe from emails from FlightLogger
  • Other minor improvements and bug fixes

As always, our improvements are very much based on the awesome feedback and suggestions we constantly receive from our customers. A big "THANKS" for contributing to all of you.

Below follows a short description of the new additions we will be releasing:

Second version of the Flight Time Limitation Module

As announced when the initial version of FTLM was released, further improvements were to follow soon after. Our first update is now here. Customers testing via the free trial of FLTM (which ends ultimo August) now get a chance to try out the second version of the module.

Note that after the trial period has ended, we will reach out individually to the schools that have tested FTLM to collect your input.

Here are the most important updates on FTLM:

New process of setting up flight time limitations

Flight time limitations are now set up the same way as certificates via the “Master flight time limitation list” page (formerly named Flight time limitation). This means that you now can create a list of flight time limitations, which can be active or inactive – exactly the same way as certificates are setup today.

Each flight time limitation can be named individually, and you can choose whether to include flights from rentals and simulators and of course set up your own warnings with customizable color schemes.

Add flight time limitations to specific users, programs and renters

Now that flight time limitations are handled the same way as certificates, they can be added to specific users as a requirement (notice that we have added a tab for Flight time limitation requirements).

Likewise, flight time limitation requirements can be added to your programs by editing the program and then adding the flight time limitation requirements.

Last but not least, flight time limitations can be added as a renter requirement in exactly the same way.

Our next planned update will allow users including renters to add external flights to their FlightLogger logbook to keep track of flight time limitation, making the Flight Time Limitation Module even more valuable for your school.

Improved Guest User functionality

Administrators can now give guest users access to not only students but instructors, staff, crew and renters as well. Also, we have added some extra settings (2) to manage what kind of data each guest user is able to access.

Landing summary added to the user overview

Based on customer request we have added a landing summary on the user overview page, making it easy to see the total number of landings completed on the program. Landings include “Full stop” and “Touch & Go” (but not “Approach” or “Go-around”).

Edit how usernames are shown on booking pages

As a school, you can now set how usernames are shown in various areas on the booking pages. The new setting can be found under Administration -> Account settings -> Booking. The default setting is as shown below.

Easier registration of flying lessons with no actual flying

Some of our customers have flight lessons that don’t involve actual flying (like walk-arounds, taxi training etc). For easy registration of a zero flight time and zero landings lessons, default values are now set when proceeding the booking.

The following values are set as default:

Aircraft: As selected in the booking

DUAL – VFR – DAY – LOCAL

TACHO START: Current tacho
TACHO FINISH: Empty (like today)
OFF BLOCK: Off block time from booking
AIRBORNE: Off block time from booking
LANDING: Off block time from booking
ON BLOCK: Off block time from booking

ARRIVAL: 0 full stop

The default settings can, of course, be overwritten.

Option to unsubscribe from FlightLogger emails

To comply with regulations an option to unsubscribe from email updates from FlightLogger has been added to user settings. To disables from FlightLogger, users can simply click their Edit Info link in the top right menu and remove the tick in the setting Receive email update announcements.

Note that you will still receive messages from FlightLogger in your message center.
