Software update 20/11/2023: New API options and introducing Spidertracks integration

We are ready to release this year's 11th major update of FlightLogger on Monday November 20th at 06:00 UTC. We expect no downtime for this update.

Please watch this short video for a brief introduction to the update:

The upcoming update holds two interesting news:

  • New options added to FlightLogger's API
  • New integration with Spidertracks
  • New account setting for improved data quality: Enforce title on custom lessons

For more details please continue reading.

New options added to FlightLogger's API

We are continuously adding new functionality to the API that we launched earlier this year. We're excited to learn how many clients are already using the API to connect FlightLogger with 3rd party solutions for aircraft maintenance, accounting, etc.

Based on request, we now add possibilities to query more information, for example on student program status, gradings, and progress, and program revisions.

Once we release the update, the new queries will immediately be added to our API documentation on api.flightlogger.net.

New integration with Spidertracks

Flight training organizations can now take advantage of a new direct integration between FlightLogger and Spidertracks, a leading solution for tracking aircraft.

This integration functions similarly to the existing AirNav RadarBox integration. Once the connection is established, FlightLogger will automatically retrieve and attach flight tracks from Spidertracks to your flight registrations, based on the logged flight times. This seamless integration streamlines the process and enhances the accuracy of your flight data.

The integration is completely free but requires that you use the Spidertracks solution for tracking your aircraft. More info can be found at https://spidertracks.com.

New account setting for improved data quality: Enforce title on custom lessons

The update holds a new account setting allowing you to enforce that custom lessons are required to be given a title. Activating this setting helps improve the data quality and general overview around your custom lessons.

The new account setting can be found in General -> Registrations:

Minor improvements and bug fixes

As always, our development team will include lots of minor improvements and bug fixes in the release, based on the valuable input that we continue to receive from you, our clients.

We do our best to listen to all the feedback we receive and to find solutions to your challenges. While we can't always fulfil every single wish right away, we encourage you to keep challenging us with your ideas, feedback and inspiration. Your feedback means everything, so please keep it coming 🙏
