This article explains the widgets in the Cancellations category of the Business Insights module. These widgets provide a summary of cancelled flights and ground training sessions, categorized by reason. They offer valuable insight into the most common causes of cancellations, helping you take proactive steps in planning and operations.

Cancelled flights by reason

What it shows:
This widget displays the total number of cancelled flight bookings, grouped by the selected cancellation reasons. Typical reasons may include: weather, student no-show, technical issues, instructor unavailability, etc.

When to use it:
Use this widget to identify patterns and trends in cancelled flights. It can help improve operational planning, highlight areas for process improvement, and support decision-making in scheduling policies.

Example use:
Determine whether most cancellations over the past 90 days were due to weather, allowing you to adjust seasonal planning or increase simulator availability during winter months.

Cancelled ground training by reason

What it shows:
This widget shows the number of cancelled ground training sessions (briefings, theory classes, etc.), also grouped by cancellation reason.

When to use it:
Use this widget to track disruptions in theoretical or classroom-based training. It helps pinpoint frequent causes of interruption and supports more stable scheduling.

Example use:
Identify if certain ground school topics or days have a higher cancellation rate due to instructor illness or student no-shows.

Need help adding widgets?

To add any of the above widgets to your dashboard:

  1. Go to your FlightLogger dashboard

  2. Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner

  3. Select Add

  4. Choose the widgets you want to display

  5. Click Apply

Each user can customize their own dashboard layout to match their role and workflow.

Business Insights is an optional add-on module. It is not available by default.

To activate it on your account:

  1. Click the Get Support button inside FlightLogger

  2. Request activation of the Business Insights module

  3. Our team will guide you through pricing, setup, and configuration

Once activated, you can start adding widgets to your dashboard right away.
