Overview
This article explains the widgets available in the Scheduling category of the Business Insights module. These widgets provide a breakdown of booking activity across different types of operations – including flight training, ground training, operations, and rentals.
Each widget shows totals, averages, and completion metrics to help you monitor how your scheduling process performs across categories.

Scheduling (all bookings)
What it shows:
This widget displays an overview of all bookings created in FlightLogger, across all booking types.
It includes:

Total duration and number of created bookings

Completion rate (% of bookings with logged outcome)

Bookings missing completion
-
Cancelled bookings and cancellation rate
-
Average duration per booking
When to use it:
Use this widget to monitor the overall scheduling activity of your organization, regardless of booking purpose.
Example use:
See that 88% of bookings were completed last month and 2% were cancelled, giving you confidence in schedule reliability.
Scheduling (flight training)
What it shows:
This widget filters scheduling data to include only flight training bookings (e.g. PPL, CPL, IR).
When to use it:
Use this widget to assess how well your flight training program is running in terms of completed, missed, or cancelled flights.
Example use:
Track that 87% of scheduled flight training operations were completed in the past 30 days.
Scheduling (ground training)
What it shows:
This widget filters the data to show only ground training bookings, such as briefings, classroom theory sessions, or pre/post-flight activities.
When to use it:
Use this to monitor theoretical training activity and completion rate. Helpful for evaluating ground school planning and attendance.
Example use:
See that 84% of ground sessions were completed, while 7% were cancelled – possibly indicating a scheduling or availability issue.
Scheduling (operation)
What it shows:
This widget displays scheduling activity related to operational flights (non-training), such as commercial or internal missions.
When to use it:
Use this to track bookings related to flight operations beyond student training. Good for operators managing firefighting, aerial work, or logistics.
Example use:
Identify that 86% of operational flights were completed and 11% have not yet been logged, which may require follow-up.
Scheduling (rental)
What it shows:
This widget displays data for aircraft rental bookings.
When to use it:
Use this to monitor activity and reliability of rental operations. It is helpful for fleet usage tracking and private pilot engagement.
Example use:
See that 96% of rentals were completed and only 2% were cancelled in the last reporting period – indicating stable rental behavior.

To add any of the above widgets to your dashboard:

Go to your FlightLogger dashboard

Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner

Select Add

Choose the widgets you want to display

Click Apply
Each user can customize their own dashboard layout to match their role and workflow.
