This article explains the widgets available in the Training category of the Business Insights module. These widgets provide real-time insights into student progress, training delivery, and instructor-to-student ratios across your flight school or operation.
They are especially useful for heads of training, instructors, and planners looking to follow up on performance, repetition rates, and capacity needs.

Active students
What it shows:
This widget displays the total number of students currently enrolled in active training programs.
When to use it:
Use this widget to monitor overall student volume. It helps assess whether training capacity is aligned with current enrollment.
Example use:
Track how the number of active students changes month to month to support instructor scheduling and planning.
Exercises passed vs repetitions needed
What it shows:
This widget compares the number of exercises passed to the number of exercises that required at least one repetition.
When to use it:
Use this to evaluate how often students need extra attempts to meet performance standards. It can help identify problem areas or gaps in instruction.
Example use:
Identify a high repetition rate in early navigation exercises, prompting a review of lesson delivery or student preparation.
Flight training progression
What it shows:
This widget shows the average progress of students in their current flight training programs, based on completed flight hours vs. total program hours.
When to use it:
Use this widget to get a quick overview of how far along each class or student group is in their practical flight training.
Example use:
See that Class Alpha has completed 75% of flight hours, while Class Charlie is only at 25%, helping you balance instructor assignments.
Ground training progression
What it shows:
This widget shows the average completion of ground training (theory) for each student group, based on hours completed vs. total hours required.
When to use it:
Use this to monitor how well each class is progressing through theory lessons and identify which classes may need catch-up sessions.
Example use:
Track that Class Bravo is behind on ground school and adjust the schedule to add extra classroom time.
Lessons passed vs repetitions needed
What it shows:
This widget compares the total number of passed lessons to the number of lessons that had to be repeated.
When to use it:
Use this to track how effectively students complete their lessons on the first attempt. It supports quality assurance and lesson design improvements.
Example use:
Identify that a high percentage of instrument lessons are being repeated, prompting a review of briefing material or instructor training.
Students trained vs flight instructors needed
What it shows:
This widget compares the number of active students to the number of active flight instructors, indicating the current student-to-instructor ratio.
When to use it:
Use this widget to ensure that instructor capacity matches current training demand. It helps identify overloading or underutilization of instructional resources.
Example use:
Spot that your school has 20 students per instructor, exceeding your internal ratio goal of 12:1 – prompting the onboarding of additional instructors.

Each user can customize their own dashboard layout to match their role and workflow.
