Aircraft Status
View the availability and condition of all of your active aircraft (resources).
Aircraft Column
I
In the aircraft column, you will see:
- Aircraft Registration: Clicking it takes you directly to the aircraft’s profile page.
- Model: Shown as set up when the aircraft was created.
- Location: Initially set in the aircraft info, and later updated whenever instructors submit flight data on the current position/location.
- Pencil icon: Quick link to edit the info of the aircraft.
*Note: By default, simulators do not have an open location, they are treated as being at your home base.
If you do want to add a location to be shown under the simulator, go to Edit Info (pencil icon). On the first page, under Airport, choose one from your list.
Warnings Column
The warnings column is divided into two sections:
- Top section: Shows warnings in color if any maintenance issues require attention, such as upcoming service check. The number changes depending on how many warnings exist (0, 1, 2, 3, etc.). Colors are displayed according to the intervals you have set.
*Note: These warning are what we define as Requirements. They are fully customizable and you will create them according to your specific needs. They can be found under the Administration tab in FlightLogger.
For more details, see this article: [link].
- Bottom section: Shows discrepancies/squawks/gripes and works in the same way, using color to indicate the status.
In the aircraft column, you will also see a small arrow pointing to the right. If there are warnings displayed, click the arrow to expand and view the specific warning and its details.
Next to the warning you will also also see any notes, which can be useful for pilots.
Last Flight Column
The Last Flight column shows the data submitted for the most recent flight.
At the top, you’ll see the last submission date, followed by the times recorded from the timers set up for that specific aircraft.
Timers are configured on the Flight Logs page and must be enabled in the Edit Info section of the aircraft page to appear on the dashboard. (See related articles for setup instructions.)
Each timer is shown with a small circle and an abbreviation that matches the timer type you selected.
- A = Airborne
- A = Airswitch
- B = Block time
- D = DATCON time
- E = EDU time
- F = Flight time
- HH = Heater Hobbs time
- T = Tach time
- V = VDO time
Depending on how many timers are active for the aircraft, you will see the corresponding abbreviations here.
*Note: There can maximum be three timers active at any given time.
Current Column
The Current Hours column shows the accumulated hours recorded on the specific timers you have set up for the aircraft.
It starts with the current date and then displays the totals for the selected timers.
Next Service Column
The Next Service column shows when the aircraft is due for its next service, based on the criteria you have set up.
This can be controlled by a variety of parameters for example a specific calendar date, or a total reading on the chosen timer.
For pilots, this column provides a quick and reliable view of when the next service is due.
*Note: We always recommend that pilots double-check the aircraft’s official documents. Even though data is entered into FlightLogger, there is always a small chance of human error when the last user submitted information.
Service Due Column
The Service Due column gives pilots a quick overview of when the next service is due, shown in days, hours, or other intervals.
The display changes color based on the time periods and warning levels you have set up.
Remarks Column
The Remarks column shows a quick overview of how many remarks are attached to a specific aircraft.
To read them, click the small arrow iconin the aircraft column to expand and view the full remarks.
*Note: You can filter to show only aircraft with warnings.
Bookings
The Bookings section gives each user, whether an instructor, student, renter, or crew member, a quick overview of their scheduled activities.
In the top right corner, you will see the date for the planned activity, the briefing start time (if briefings are set up in your lessons), the flight start and end times, and the debriefing end time. It also shows the departure and arrival airports.
All times are color coded:
- Green = A flight scheduled for today (within the next 24 hours).
- Black = A booking in the future (beyond 24 hours). By default, users can only action (Cancel or Proceed) bookings within the next 24 hours.
- Red = An overdue booking that needs action. This means either the flight has not been flown, or it has been flown but the data has not yet been submitted.
On the left side of each booking, you will see:
- The type of flight (e.g., flight with a single student)
- The aircraft registration
- The instructor
- The student
- The lesson
Each item is "linked". By clicking the name, for example, the instructor, student, lesson, or aircraft registration, you will be taken directly to the page for that specific lesson, student, instructor, user, or aircraft.
*Note: Students do not have the option to Proceed or Cancel bookings.
*Note: It is very important for instructors, renters, and crew to take action on every booking by selecting Proceed or Cancel. This is to ensure correct reporting, logbook entries, and student records.
Certificate Warnings
This widget shows the users' personal certificate warnings based on the requirements that was set up. User requirements are, like maintenance requirements, fully customizable, so each requirement created for a user will appear in this block.
- Warnings are displayed according to the time periods set by the administrators, using the defined color codes.
- Clicking a certificate opens the most recently uploaded document.
- If you have the required permission, you will have the option to renew the certificate.
Wall Posts
The Wall Posts widget is used for daily updates and announcements.
- By default, only administrators can add wall posts, but this can be changed in account settings to allow instructors, crew, or staff to create them.
- Students cannot add wall posts.
- Wall posts can be created, edited, deleted, and pinned so they always stay at the top.
Customizing Widgets
In the bottom-right corner, you’ll see a small "gear" symbol. Clicking it lets you:
- Choose which Business Insight Module (BIM) widgets to display (if the module is active on your account). You can select one or all.
- Edit your current widgets (even without BIM). You can resize them, hide empty widgets with the eye icon, or expand them.
- Remember to click the check mark to save your changes.
For Business Insights, you can also decide how far back in time you want the information to display.
See this article for more details on the Business Insight Module.
