Electronic Signatures in FlightLogger

This Help Center article explains the use of electronic signatures in FlightLogger.

We have introduced an electronic signature for both students and instructors after completing a registration in FlightLogger.

We have introducing our elctronic signature functionality together with the Registration Change log to allow users to electronically sign registrations in FlightLogger in full compliance with US FAA requirements.

Under account settings - general settings - registrations, FlightLogger clients can now enable registration signatures and additionally authenticate every time when signing.

The new account setting introduces a new way of signing registrations electronically in FlightLogger.

After the instructor has clicked submit, the new electronig signature tab will open, providing a preview of the lesson and allowing the instructor to either download the PDF, sign later, or sign now.

When clicking "Download PDF," the instructor receives a PDF format of the lesson, giving an overview of flight phases, exercises, grades, comments, and flight times.

If the instructor clicks "Sign now," the lesson will be signed immediately, and if the previously mentioned authenticate every time when signing account settings has been enabled, and the instructor must type in either login password, 2-FA code or use Passkey depending on the user's specific login setup.

If the instructor clicks "Sign Later". the lesson will await signature under the "Signature required" widget directly on the instructor's front page of FlightLogger.

The details will be updated in FlightLogger immediately, but the lesson is still missing the digital signature from both the instructor and, later, the student. This means that all reporting will be updated if using the sign later functionality, and only the signature will be missing.

Once the instructor signs the lesson, the student will be able to approve by digitally signing the lesson through the "Signature Required" widget directly on the front page in FlightLogger. The students will have the same opportunity to download a PDF version of the lesson.

The same signature process has been applied to operations and rentals and all ground training types in FlightLogger. Each signature creates a change log event that can be found under each registration, activities, and under the My signed documents report on the users profile.

Additionally, we have added a My signed documents report under each individual user. Students, instructors, crew, and renters now have a full overview of all signed registrations they have signed through their FlightLogger account. This is a highly requested feature that we have released for all our clients, ensuring a complete overview of all digital signatures made through FlightLogger.

Combining the digital signature, 2-factor authentication, and our new Change Log, FlightLogger clients can now get a more in-depth view of changes made to a registration, while it's easier to stay compliant with authorities through a completely digital solution.
