FlightLogger offers an optional workflow to support acknowledgements and authorizations in flight training organizations.
With this flow, users assigned with the Dispatcher permissions gain full control of FlightLogger's Departure/Arrivals page. Also, dispatchers are handed the responsibility of verifying that instructors, students, crew, and renters have provided their digital acknowledgement before the flight is dispatched.
Visit this page to learn more about the Acknowledgement and Authorization workflow.
Enabling the acknowledgement and authorization workflow
Be aware that when enabling the workflow, the Departure/Arrival page will no longer be updated live from your lesson/flight registrations, but entirely managed by your dispatch user(s).
To enable the dispatch workflow go to Administration -> Account settings -> General settings
Scroll to the section called Acknowledgement and authorization and enable the setting called Enable acknowledgement and authorization.
This opens several text boxes with a default acknowledgement text for each user role. This text will be displayed to each user when performing the acknowledgement before the flight can be dispatched.
We strongly recommend that you insert your own texts to ensure compliance with your regulations. You can insert links to relevant sources.
When done, click Save and you are ready to assign the dispatcher role to selected users.
Assigning the dispatcher role to a user(s)
The next step is to make sure your dispatchers are handed dispatcher permissions in FlightLogger. To do that, go the users page and click Settings-> Edit info
Scroll down to User roles and in the Departure/Arrival Permissions section, enable first the Access and then the Dispatcher permission and click Update.
Dispatcher permissions can be handed to as many users as you wish. When this is done, the dispatcher workflow is ready to be used on your account. How this is done is explained here.
