This feature makes it easy for FlightLogger users to incorporate an acknowledgement and authorization workflow.
This feature allows FlightLogger users to implement an acknowledgement and authorization workflow with ease.
It provides dispatchers with a convenient way to collect required signatures directly from the Departure/Arrival page before a flight takes off.
When enabled, you will see four customizable text fields. You can tailor the text, adjust formatting, and even include links as needed.
These are for Students, Instructors, Renters and Crew.
In FlightLogger, the system distinguishes between authorization and acknowledgement based on user roles:
-
Instructors and crew members are required to authorize their flights
-
Students and renters are required to acknowledge their flights
This setup ensures that responsibilities are clearly defined according to each user's role in the operation.
If you wish to revert to the original setup, simply click Reset to default to restore FlightLogger’s default settings.
When the Acknowledgement and Authorization feature is enabled, a black thumbs-up icon appears on the relevant user’s page next to the specific booking.
This icon serves as a prompt for the user to click and acknowledge the conditions related to that particular booking and flight.
Once the user authorizes the booking, the thumbs-up icon will turn green, indicating that the acknowledgment has been successfully completed.
If a user has been granted access to the Departure/Arrival page (via Permissions set by an Administrator), they can also complete the acknowledgement directly from that page.
Anyone with the Dispatcher role can access the History section of the Departure/Arrival board to view a complete overview of which bookings have been authorized or acknowledged, and which ones are still pending.
Users can be required to authorize or acknowledge their bookings before they are allowed to enter any flight registrations. If the authorization is not provided, the system will prevent them from proceeding.
To enable this restriction, go to:
Administration → Account Settings → General Settings → Registration
From there, activate the setting Block flight registrations and select Block if authorization is missing.
You can enable a warning feature that provides dispatchers with a quick notification if a user has not authorized or acknowledged the terms set by your organization.
This helps ensure all necessary confirmations are in place before flight operations proceed.
Additionally, when the warning popup is activated, you can choose to block dispatch if the required criteria are not met.
Enabling this option will restrict the dispatch process. As a result, the "Continue" button will be disabled and visually change to a lighter green, indicating that the action cannot proceed until all conditions are fulfilled.
