This section manages specific settings related to lesson, operation, and rental registrations within your organization’s FlightLogger account.
Display durations in lesson briefings
When this feature is enabled, an information field will appear in the Briefing tab, showing the expected flight lesson duration based on the times defined in your syllabus.
Enable fuel registration
Enable this setting to include Fuel Uplift and Departure Fuel fields in the Flight tab of registration entries.
When setting up an aircraft, you can choose to record fuel in liters (L) or US gallons (USG). Based on your selected unit, clicking the “+/-” icon under the UPLIFT or DEPARTURE fields will adjust the value by 10 L or 3 USG, respectively.
Of course, this value can be manually adjusted as needed.
*Note: We recommend entering any added fuel under the UPLIFT field rather than directly in the DEPARTURE field. This ensures that all fuel entries are correctly reflected in the Fuel Added column of the Fuel Report.
Default departure fuel from total fuel
When enabled, this feature automatically fills in the Departure Fuel field during flight registration using the aircraft's recorded fuel level from the previous flight.
This automation is based on the aircraft’s fuel coefficient settings and the last registered flight. While it provides a convenient default, it is essential that registrants verify and adjust the value if needed to ensure the actual fuel level is accurate before departure.
If this feature is disabled, users will need to manually enter the departure fuel for each flight registration.
Enable oil registration
The "Enable oil registration" setting in FlightLogger allows your organization to track oil usage during flights, complementing existing fuel tracking features.
Once enabled, a new "Oil Added" field appears on the flight registration page, allowing pilots to log any oil added during a flight. This data supports maintenance teams by helping them monitor oil consumption, identify irregularities, and plan maintenance more effectively.
When setting up your aircraft, you can choose to record fuel and oil in liters (L), US gallons (USG), or quarts (qt).
Clicking the “+/-” icon under the UPLIFT or DEPARTURE fields will adjust the value by the following default increments, depending on the selected unit:
-
1 L
-
1 USG
-
1 qt
All values, as well as Decimal values, can be manually adjusted as needed.
Default departure from current airport
When this feature is enabled, FlightLogger will automatically set the departure airport based on the current location of the selected aircraft.
This location is determined by the last flight registration. However, it is important that the registrant verifies the accuracy of the suggested airport.
If any discrepancies are found (for example a previous flight that was not submitted), the current location of an aircraft can be updated in the Departure tab during flight registration.
If the desired airport is not listed in the dropdown menu, users can manually enter a name. This does not need to be an official ICAO identifier. Once added and the data submitted, the newly entered airport will automatically appear in the airport list under the Administration tab for future use.
Enable flag functionality on lessons
When this feature is enabled, a "Flag" column will appear on the grade slip, allowing instructors to mark specific exercises for failure, subgrade and repetition.
Flagging an exercise prompts FlightLogger to automatically generate a repeat lesson that includes only the exercises marked for repetition. This lesson is added chronologically in the lesson overview, making it easy for schedulers to identify and book it as part of the student's continued training.
Instructors also have the option to manually override a flagged exercise by clicking the red REPETITION NEEDED tab. When clicked, the tab will turn green and display PASSED.
In this case, FlightLogger will not create a repeat lesson, but the outcome will still be recorded in the statistics as a "bad day", reflecting the initial need for repetition.
Enable blocking of flight registrations
When this feature is enabled, flight registrations will be blocked if any required prerequisites have not been fulfilled.
This ensures that all necessary conditions are met before any lesson, flight, or activity can be registered, helping maintain consistency, compliance, and safety standards.
Enable blocking of theory registrations
Enabling this feature will prevent theory registrations unless all defined prerequisites have been met.
This safeguard helps enforce structured training progression and supports regulatory compliance and operational consistency.
Require title when registering custom lesson
This feature applies only to custom lessons.
When enabled, a title will be required when creating a custom lesson. If no title is entered, a warning message will appear, prompting you to complete the field before proceeding.
Show extra action buttons in flight registration (Status, ETA, POB)
Enable this feature to display additional action buttons—Status: ETA and POB—on the flight registration page.
Note: These buttons will only appear when proceeding from an actual booking. If the flight has not been booked for a specific lesson, flight, mission, or similar activity, the buttons will not be shown.
When connected to the internet, any updates made to these action buttons will be reflected in real time on the Departure/Arrival page.
Minute intervals used for flight registration
You can define the minute increments used when logging a lesson, operation, or rental in FlightLogger.
Note: Changing the minute interval may affect the default taxi in and taxi out times set for your aircraft. If the selected interval does not match the existing defaults, FlightLogger will automatically adjust them to the closest compatible value based on the new setting.
