User-related settings are managed through these key areas.
Enable guest users
If you want to provide others with view-only access to your organization’s FlightLogger account, you can enable this option to create guest users.
These users will have limited access, and you define exactly which users and information they are allowed to view.
This feature is ideal for external parties such as your local Civil Aviation Authorities, Wet Lease clients, parents or similar stakeholders who require visibility without full access.
Enable user emergency contact information
Enable this option to add an Emergency Contact Information tab to each user’s profile.
Logbook duration format
Choose whether logbook time entries should be displayed in decimal or Hours:Minutes format.
Show if users are active in FlightLogger
Enable this option to show whether users are currently active/not active within the system.
Require uniqueness of user reference field
Enable this option to ensure that all users have a unique user reference.
When activated, any existing conflicts, (users sharing the same reference) will be displayed in a list, allowing you to quickly review and resolve them.
*Note: The User Reference Number in FlightLogger is a unique identifier assigned to each user within your organization’s account. It serves as an internal reference to help administrators and staff manage users more efficiently. This number is particularly useful for:
-
Importing or exporting user data
-
Cross-referencing users in reports or logs
-
Integrating with external systems via the FlightLogger API
You can view or edit a user's reference number by navigating to the user's profile and selecting Settings - Edit info.
Require uniqueness of user call sign field
Enable this option to ensure that all users have a unique call sign.
When activated, any existing conflicts (users with identical call signs) will be shown in a list, allowing you to quickly identify and resolve them.
*Note: In FlightLogger, the Call Sign serves as a unique identifier for users, particularly instructors and crew members. This identifier is utilized across various modules, including bookings, flight registrations, and reports, to streamline communication and scheduling processes.
The history of the call signs stems from the Air Force where pilots are assigned a unique three-letter call sign upon starting their training. This call sign is typically derived from letters in the pilot's real name, ensuring it is pronounceable and appropriate. The purpose is to provide a distinct identifier for each pilot, aiding in clear communication and record-keeping.
In FlightLogger, you have the flexibility to assign custom call signs to users during their creation or by editing their profiles later. This allows organizations to adopt naming conventions that suit their operational needs, whether that involves using initials, first names, or other identifiers.
