Software update 22/09/2025: Passkey login and new Business Insights widgets
We are launching another major update of FlightLogger on Monday, 22nd of September 2025 at 06:00 UTC time. The update doesn't require any downtime.
We are excited to announce our ninth update of the year, adding some nice new features to improve your overall experience working with FlightLogger.
Here are the highlights of this update:
- New passkey login options for enhanced security and convenience
- Additional widgets in the Business Insights module
- User interface enhancements for ground training
Watch this 2-minute video for a quick introduction:
Passkey login
With this update, we are introducing passkey login options. This allows users to log in without a password instead using Face ID, fingerprints, or device PIN to log in both securely and conveniently.
Instead of adding an extra step like 2FA (which is still available) , passkeys integrate the verification into a single action, enhancing both security and convenience. Passkeys are more resistant to phishing attacks because they are tied to specific service domains, preventing attackers from tricking users into entering credentials on fake sites.
New widgets for Business Insights
Also, we are introducing a couple of new widgets for your Head of Training and other staff responsible for training planning to easily identify students that have not been training for a long time, making it easy to quickly follow up on those and make sure that no students trailing behind.
We have added a widget for flight training and another one for ground training. These can quickly be added to your Business Insights dashboard if the Business Insights module is active on your schools account.
To activate the Business Insights Module on your organization's account, please reach out to our Support team, and they will help you get set up. Simply send an email to support@flightlogger.net to get started.
Visual improvements
Additionally, we are adding some visual improvements for our ground training setup. It doesn't change any functionality. Instead, this is mainly to prepare FlightLogger some of the exciting developments coming in one of our next releases around improved ground training management.
Technical improvements and bug fixes
Last, but not least, our development team will be adding some technical upgrades to further optimize performance and stability of the platform for the best user experience possible.
Of course also we have some bug fixes and minor improvements that most of you will not recognize but help make Flightlogger an even better platform for all our users.
Please reach out to support@flightlogger.net if you have questions or suggestions regarding the update..
All the best,
Team FlightLogger
