Release Notes

Software update 30/10/2024: Accounting improvements

We are ready to release our 10th major update of the year this Wednesday, October 30th at 07:00 UTC. No downtime is expected for this update.

We are pleased to introduce the latest update from our development team. With the new features released this time, we are releasing great improvements to our QuickBooks Integration (QIM) & User Balance (UBM) modules.
Accounting has become more and more an essential part of the FlightLogger workflows with many of our clients using these modules to keep track of finances and bill pilots.

With the new accounting improvements we are streamlining the workflows around both modules to improve the overview of finances and enabling essential QuickBooks invoicing controls directly within FlightLogger.

Here is what's coming up:

  • New Accounting Overview on User Profile (QIM & UBM)
  • Stronger 2-way integration to QuickBooks (QIM)
    • New Invoiced/Paid tabs
    • Show/change payment status directly in FlightLogger
    • Download & send invoices directly from FlightLogger
  • Minor improvements and bug fixes

For a quick introduction please watch this 2-minute video:

New Accounting Overview on User Profile

To give an easy overview of the invoices and/or balances of users we have created a new accounting overview on the user profile.

The new overview includes:

  • Invoices: All the Invoices of the user or customer (QIM)
  • Balance: The User page previously known as Account overview has been moved to enable direct access to the balance within the user's page (UBM)
  • Settings: Control of the user's access to Accounting as well as the discount

Stronger 2-way integration to QuickBooks

Our QuickBooks Integration Module has quickly become one of the most essential modules of FlightLogger for academies working with QuickBooks as accounting provider. With this new upgrade to our QuickBooks integration we are looking to even further ease the invoicing and billing of users & customers directly from FlightLogger.

As part of the new release we now integrate 2-ways with QuickBooks thus enabling us to update payment statuses and invoices both ways between the 2 systems.

This enables FlightLogger to now both set and show the payment status of invoices without the need to access the QuickBooks system directly and thus allowing the person creating the invoice and accepting payment to do it all within FlightLogger.

New Invoiced/Paid tabs

The new release features a new tab to easily separate unpaid and paid invoices to get a clear overview of where work is needed.

Show/change payment status directly in FlightLogger

You can now easily set and manage the payment status of invoices directly in FlightLogger. The payment methods available are the payment methods set up on your QuickBooks account which automatically will be synced to your FlightLogger account.
If an invoice is incorrectly marked as paid or associated with the wrong payment method, you can easily adjust the status directly within FlightLogger.

Download & send invoices directly from FlightLogger

Downloading the invoice and sending it has never been easier.

Invoices can now be easily downloaded for users and sent directly to the email address associated with the customer's QuickBooks account, or modified to any preferred email address as needed.

FlightLogger Payments

The changes in this release are paving the way for our FlightLogger Payments solution that will enable you to accept payments directly in FlightLogger. We are very excited about this and will soon be inviting the first clients to try it out. You are very welcome to contact us through support if you are interested in becoming one of the first clients on FlightLogger Payments.
