Update to the AirNav Radar Integration – Action Required
Starting November 7, 2025, AirNav Radar (formerly RadarBox) is introducing a usage-based subscription to help cover the cost of delivering flight-tracking data to FlightLogger customers. As a result, all schools that wish to continue using the flight tracking integration will need their own subscription with AirNav Radar.
We’ve been in close dialogue with our partners at AirNav Radar to find a sustainable way to cover the increasing costs of delivering flight tracking data through their API to FlightLogger.
Currently, FlightLogger automatically retrieves flight tracking data for all flights logged in the system — even if your school doesn’t actively use the tracking data. This means a significant amount of data is transferred between AirNav Radar and FlightLogger.
Instead of passing these costs on to all users, we’ve collaborated with AirNav Radar to create a new setup where flight tracking becomes an optional feature once again. This feature will now require a separate subscription with AirNav Radar.
To support you in this transition, our partners at AirNav Radar have prepared a special offer exclusively for flight schools using FlightLogger:
Get the Special FlightLogger Plan
AirNav Radar has been very supportive in this change and has created an exclusive, discounted plan especially for flight schools using FlightLogger:
Special FlightLogger Plan: $15 per month, including 50,000 API credits
This special offer makes it simple and affordable for any FlightLogger customer to keep the AirNav integration active. Note that the subscription fee is paid directly to AirNav Radar, not to FlightLogger.
Due to the very special terms of the Special FlightLogger Plan it cannot be found on AirNav's website. Instead, please contact AirNav Radar at orakhimov@airnavsystems.com to activate your plan.
What This Means for You
- By signing up with AirNav Radar's Special FlightLogger Plan ($15/month) you’ll still be able to attach flight tracks directly to flight records in FlightLogger.
- To do this, you’ll need your own AirNav Radar subscription on the Special FlightLogger Plan ($15/month).
- FlightLogger does not charge or earn anything for this integration.
- FlightLogger Customers who do not sign up with AirNav Radar will no longer be able to retrieve and attach flight tracks to flight records in FlightLogger.
How to Continue Retrieving Flight Tracks after November 7th
- Contact AirNav Radar at orakhimov@airnavsystems.com to subscribe to the Special FlightLogger Plan.
- Once your account is set up, retrieve your API access token from AirNav Radar.
- In FlightLogger, go to Administration → IAccount Settings → Flight Tracking
- Paste your API access token from AirNav Radar
The setup only takes a couple of minutes once you have retrieved the AirNav Radar API key.
Deadline
Please complete this setup before November 7th, 2025 to ensure uninterrupted access to AirNav flight tracks in FlightLogger.
Why We’re Making This Change
AirNav Radar has decided to apply a very fair usage-based fee to cover their internal cost for delivering tracking data through their API.
Covering this cost for all customers — including those who don’t use the integration — would lead to unnecessary expenses for everybody. By instead moving to individual AirNav Radar subscriptions, we keep things fair and transparent:
- Only active users of the integration pay for it.
- All payments go directly to AirNav Radar to cover their cost of delivering flight data.
- FlightLogger remains cost-neutral.
Acknowledgement to AirNav Radar
We’re grateful for the continued partnership and support from AirNav Radar. Their new pricing reflects a fair approach to sustaining high-quality flight-tracking data, and we’re excited to keep building on our successful collaboration going forward.
What's coming next?
While we remain very pleased with our continued partnership with AirNav Radar, we are constantly evaluating alternative solutions to provide even more functionality to FlightLogger users.
We will of course notify you of any developments in due time.
