Getting started as a crew member
If you’re new to FlightLogger, this article provides an overview of the key features and workflows you’ll use as a crew member.
As a crew member, Flight Logger helps you view information connected to your own operational activities, manage your profile, access relevant documents, and review your own reports. Your school or operator controls which features are enabled, so your view may look different from another crew member.
Your school may have enabled or disabled some features and permissions, so your view may look slightly different from the screenshots or descriptions in this article.
What is the FlightLogger definition of a crew member?
In FlightLogger, a Crew Member is anyone operating a non-training flight. This applies to any flight outside your standard flight school curriculum, including maintenance flights, ferry flights, discovery flights, or specialized external operations like fire spotting or private charters.
Log in and check your profile
When your user profile has been created, you will receive a welcome email from Flight Logger. Use the link in that email to set up your login.
Please refer to the following article on logging in for the first time. Getting started as a new user: The Registration and Login Process
After logging in, start by checking your own user profile.
To access your profile page, click on your name and chooses Profile.

From here open the Settings tab, and choose Edit info.

Depending on your school’s setup, you may be able to update details such as:
Contact information (both personal and emergency contact information)

*Note: In the bottom-left corner, you have the option to opt out of receiving email updates and announcements directly from FlightLogger. Please note that this controls communications from FlightLogger itself, not from your own organization. If you deactivate this setting, you will no longer receive these global updates.
*Note: Always remember to click Save or Update to apply any changes you have made.

Understand what you can access as a crew member
With the crew member role, you have access to the parts of FlightLogger needed for day-to-day operation flights (and whatever else permissions your administrator(s) have assigned to you).
This typically includes:
Your bookings

In the booking widget, you can see all key details regarding your operation. This includes the flight type, such as a ferry flight, the flight date highlighted in green, the assigned aircraft, your name, and any operational comments.

You will also find details about the customer you are flying for. Clicking directly on the company name will open up the contact information for that specific organization.

You can also easily download any documents, regarding the flight, that have been attached to the booking.

From the booking widget on your front page, you can either cancel the booking if needed, or proceed directly to the flight registration page.

You can easily view a list of all your previous cancelled bookings at any time.

Once completed, your flight information will automatically appear in both your expense reports and your logbook.
Availability and duty time, if enabled by your school

Activities
The Activities tab on your profile page serves as your central dashboard for tracking and managing all your flight bookings. Basically it is an overview of which flights have been submitted or not.
