FlightLogger’s brand-new Departure/Arrival page featuring live flight tracking will be launched next week - and it will be available for free
Dear FlightLogger partners,
The new Departure/Arrival page is added to your account as part the update that we will complete on Monday the 21st of June at 06:00 UTC. Please be aware that we expect your platform to be closed during the update for approximately 30 minutes.
The absolute highlight of the update is of course the introduction of the Departure/Arrival page. In short, just like you know if from commercial airports, all your users get access to a Departure/Arrival board displaying live-updated information on all current and scheduled flights via FlightLogger, based on a combination of the bookings and flight registrations made on your account. Additionally, Departure/Arrival provides a one-click access to live tracking of your flights using your preferred provider.
Departure/Arrival is also available as a kiosk screen, which means you can easily display it on a big screen at your facilities.
A quick intro to Departure/Arrival and best practice
We have already published some help center articles explaining the new Departure/Arrival page in detail (you can start here), but we would much rather begin the introduction by showing you a couple of videos to explain the concept of the Departure/Arrival page and how it fits into our best practice of flight planning and completion.
First, here’s a brand-new video we have done to explain a best practice workflow when working at an academy using FlightLogger.
Our second video gives you a quick introduction to how the Departure/Arrival page displays a flight all the way from scheduling to completion. We recommend that you watch it as it also explains how the flight registrations you make on board the aircraft affect the information displayed to your ground staff via the Departure/Arrival page.
Note. The Departure/Arrival page includes a direct link to live flight tracking via either AirNav RadarBox, FlightRadar24, or FlightAware. To make this function correctly, you must set up correct linking of your aircraft, as described in this article.
The new Departure/Arrival page does also support a so-called dispatcher workflow. The dispatcher workflow requires additional administrative work compared to the workflow described above, in which the instructor uses FlightLogger as an electronic flight bag throughout the live registration.
Hence FlightLogger recommends all partners use FlightLogger as shown in the videos above.
For more information about the dispatch workflow see this article.
Join our webinar to get a full introduction
To give you and your instructors, crew and staff the best possible introduction to all the new features, we have arranged a live webinar that we invite you all to join. Here you’ll get a detailed walkthrough of the entire workflow and you’ll of course have the chance to ask us questions during the 30-45 minute webinar.
Read more and sign up to our webinar here.
We would very much appreciate your feedback on the new Departure/Arrival features, so feel free to send an email to support@flightlogger.net with your feedback.
Minor improvements and bug fixes
As always, this update also includes some minor improvements and bug fixes, based on all the great input we receive from our partners. We will reach out directly to notify those partners that have been involved in any of these issues.
Thanks,
The FlightLogger team
